Privacy and cookie policy

In short: we use your data and files only to reply to you, prepare your quote and handle your order. We do not sell them, we do no advertising, and the website uses no profiling cookies or third-party analytics.

2What data we process

• Contact details you enter in the form: name, email, phone, company (optional) and your notes for the technician.
• Files you send us: 3D models (STL, STEP, OBJ, 3MF, IGES), ZIP archives, PDFs and photos.
• Automatic file assessment calculated by the website (dimensions, estimated weight, file issues, indicative price shown) and order details (parts, materials, quantities, total).
• Technical data: to protect the form against spam we store your IP address only in encoded, unreadable form, together with the date and time of submission. Like any web server, our hosting provider also keeps technical access logs.

The file analysis in the online estimate runs in your browser: your files only reach us when you submit the form.

3Why we process it and on what legal basis

• Replying to requests and preparing quotes: pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Handling orders, production, shipping and payment: performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Invoicing and tax obligations: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• Website security, spam prevention and the request history of the same customer: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not use your data for newsletters or advertising. Should we wish to do so in the future, we will ask for your specific consent.

4Your files stay confidential

Files are stored in an area of the server that cannot be accessed from the web and are used only to assess and produce your part. We do not share them or use them for any other purpose. On request we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). We only photograph or show the parts we make with your permission.

5Who may receive the data

• Our hosting and email provider (Hostinger), which stores the website, emails and files on our behalf as a data processor.
• Couriers, only the data needed for delivery.
• Accountants and advisers, for tax obligations.
• PayPal or your bank, if you pay this way: they process payment data as independent controllers.
• External partners for finishing, assembly or painting, only if you ask for it and with your agreement.
• WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to contact us there: WhatsApp's privacy policy then also applies.

The website is hosted on servers in the European Union. Some external services you choose (PayPal, WhatsApp) may transfer data outside the EU with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

6How long we keep it

• Quote requests not followed by an order, with their files: up to 24 months from the last contact.
• Orders: accounting and tax records for 10 years, as required by law; the files of ordered parts for 24 months for possible reprints, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.
• Anti-spam data (encoded IP, date and time): up to 24 months.

7Your rights

You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, or receive it in a machine-readable format (portability). Write to info@protipy3d.com: we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority in your country.

The form fields marked as required are needed to reply to you: without them we cannot handle your request.

8Cookies

The website does not use profiling, advertising or analytics cookies and does not load content from third-party servers: fonts and the 3D preview libraries are hosted on our own server. That is why we do not ask for cookie consent.

• We only use a small technical browser storage (sessionStorage) so that the opening animation is not repeated during the same visit. It is deleted automatically when you close the tab.
• The restricted area for our staff uses a technical session cookie required to log in; it does not concern visitors.

Links to external services (WhatsApp, Google Maps, PayPal) take you to websites with their own privacy and cookie rules.

9Changes

We may update this policy: the date at the top shows the latest version. In case of discrepancies, the Italian text prevails.
